Welcome to Rule Tool Rule tool is a free online platform for fans, players, coaches and officials to study the NCAA American Football rules. The NCAA American Football rules can be complicated, because they contain many definitions, exceptions and references to other rules within the rulebook. This can make studying the rules them quite challenging. Despite of the fact that many aids are available, these usually provide interpretations of the rules, or at least reword them. Therefore, those aids can never fully replace the rulebook. Ruletool is based on the exact wording of the NCAA American Football rules. It enriches them with references, interactive definitions, example videos, pictures and comments of fellow rule students. Major updates (May 2012)! - Search function - find any rule you want - Direct rule access - just type the rule number, and it provides you all details (example: http://www.ruletool.info/6-4-1) - You be the ref section - judge on game situations yourself - Several minor features to make using Ruletool even easier than before - New logo How does ruletool work?
All sections and articles are listed per rule. Selected movies are displayed for each article and can be played by clicking them. References to other articles are displayed like this. If clicked, the applicable article is displayed on the right side. Definitions are displayed in bold and cannot be clicked. If you hoover above the definition with your mouse, ruletool will show the applicable definition. Penalty statements, approved rulings and other user comments can be toggled on or off using the buttons on the top of the display for each rule. You can also display them for each single article, in case you want to study only rules and want to see if you remember the penalty statements (and the announcement signal) correctly. We encourage you to discuss your interpretation or question for a rule using the comment field. Thank you for using Ruletool! |
